Swedish GM Jonny Hector wins CCC 2016 convincingly! And local FM Martin Haubro, from the organizing club BMS Skak, completes his IM qualification!

Due to two players signing a wrong result for their round 5 game, round 6 had to be revised around 20:45 hrs on Friday evening. The revised round only caused the pairings on boards 21 to 27 to be changed, compared to the first version of round 6 that was published.

The CCC 2016 prizes are as follows:

1. prize: 4.000 kr.
2. prize: 3.000 kr.
3. prize: 2.000 kr.
4. prize: 1.000 kr.
5. prize: 1.000 kr.
6. prize: 500 kr.

Rating group prizes:

Group 1 - FIDE rating 2200 - 2299 (players 18-27): 1.000 kr.
Group 2 - FIDE rating 2100 - 2199 (players 28-40): 1.000 kr.
Group 3 - FIDE rating 1900 - 2099 (players 41-54): 1.000 kr.
Group 4 - FIDE rating 1000 - 1899 (players 55-62): 1.000 kr.

Prizes are not shared but will be decided by tie breaks (Middle Buchholz, thereafter SB - if still equal, prize is shared). Only one prize can be won by each player.

The 12th Copenhagen Chess Challenge started today with a field of 62 players, headed by 7 GM's and 4 IM's. 9 rounds will be played, and 29 games, almost all games from each round, will be transmitted live! Information and games etc. can be found through the menues above. We wish everybody a great CCC 2016, and we thank our sponsors: The Copenhagen Chess Federation (KSU), The Danish Chess Federation (DSU), The Support Federation of the Danish Chess Federation (DSUS), and the organising club BMS Skak.

Copenhagen Chess Challenge 2016 will start with 1st round today, April 20th, at 18:30 hrs. We have a great field of players from many nations, headed by 7 GMs, 4 IMs and numerous FMs and other strong players, and with a total number of players around 70. We will have a lot of wonderful chess in the coming days, and 29 live boards so you can all follow the action!

The final list of participants and the pairings of 1st round will be available here shortly before 1st round is started. Until then, the list of registered players can be seen from the menu under "Participants".

Some important information:

1) Arrival and registration
Registration will be possible from 16.00 hrs at the playing site. Players shall be registered at the latest 17.30!

2) Late arrival for games
It is accepted that players arrive up to 15 minutes late for a game. The game is lost for the player that arrives later than this to a game.
